In our daily roundup of Michigan Wolverines news, we have two more Michigan football consensus All-Americans and more honors for head coach Jim Harbaugh.

It’s a special honor to be named a consensus All-American and it’s something that comes with a special recognition from the Michigan football program.

And on Tuesday, Blake Corum and Olu Oluwatimi became the latest Michigan Wolverines to earn consensus All-American honors after both made the Sporting News All-American team.

There are five All-American team publications that are used to determine consensus and unanimous. Four have selected Corum First-Team All-American and if he is named the same thing by the Football Coaches Association, he would be a unanimous choice.

That’s something Aidan Hutchinson achieved last season. Oluwatimi, who has proven to be one of the most impactful transfer portal additions in the country and probably No. 2 only behind Caleb Williams, already won the Rimington Award and has three first-team selections. He is also a consensus choice.

In the past seven years, Jim Harbaugh has now coached nine consensus All-Americans. This is the second year with back-to-back as Jake Moody was a consensus All-American in 2021, along with Hutch.

Corum ran for 1,463 yards and 18 touchdowns and if he didn’t get hurt, probably wins the Heisman Trophy.

Jim Harbaugh is a finalist for Bear Bryant Coach of the Year

Jim Harbaugh, the Michigan Wolverines head football coach is up for a few coach of the year awards. He won Big Ten Coach of the Year after missing out last season, despite winning AP National Coach of the Year in 2021.

Sonny Dykes is a tough guy to beat out for the award. But Harbaugh lost a number of key players including a Heisman candidate and still went 13-0.

It’s been an incredible season and from our perspective, the man should get every college football coaching award in the book. He should also get a big, fat raise to keep him in Ann Arbor forever.

Michigan Wolverines recruiting news

We’ve got the full breakdown here, but it was a busy day Tuesday. Ryan Walters taking the Purdue head coaching job could help Michigan football with Jyaire Hill. Harbaugh visited a top target in Roderick Pierce as well.

Plus, Malachi Coleman, a top-100 target out of Nebraska, has decided to cancel his visit to Michigan this weekend and visit Colorado instead.
