5 predictions for Michigan Football vs Purdue in Big Ten title game
Colston Loveland coming out party continues
Michigan football has a long history of great tight end play and it looks like true freshman Colston Loveland is going to be a good one — a really good one.
Of course, Loveland is most well-known for his massive 45-yard touchdown reception against Ohio State in a play that will become the stuff of legend. It was his first career touchdown reception but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he caught No. 2 in the Big Ten title game.
Colston has actually been on a roll for the past three weeks and has at least one reception of 27 yards in each of the past three games. Against Illinois, Loveland had two catches of over 20 yards. He’s a big body, he’s fast and he can also get it done in the running game as a blocker.
The kid looks like a future first-round pick. Will Johnson and Mason Graham both made the Freshman All-American team and Loveland might have too, but Michigan football was so loaded and still is loaded with tight end depth.
Michigan is missing some key guys due to injury, but others like Loveland are emerging and my prediction is that he gets at least one 20-yard reception, a touchdown, and 50 yards total.
