Can Michigan stay focused on the task at hand?

Look, Michigan football blew out Iowa last year, but if not for two long touchdown plays (a pass and a run) Michigan would’ve been in a fight with Iowa heading into halftime last year.

Michigan was lucky to get those two plays in the first half, and that Iowa’s offense was so inept that they couldn’t score more than three, but Purdue’s offense is much, much better.

The point is, Michigan can’t afford to sleepwalk in this football game out of the gate. Purdue is known as a “giant killer.” They are called the Spoilermakers. Michigan players and Harbaugh have already commented about this throughout the week.

Although Michigan hasn’t played Purdue in a while, they still are aware of some of the upsets that Purdue has had in the last several years. Just last year, Purdue beat Iowa and Michigan State and took Notre Dame to the brink.

This year, Purdue took Penn State to the brink. They really should’ve won that game, if not for some terrible playcalling and clock management to end the game. They beat OSU in 2017.

Michigan football has to be on high alert for everything that could possibly happen, whether that be fake punts, trick plays, etc.
