Jake Moody

I don’t think it’s controversial to say that Jake Moody has been called on to step up a number of times in the last two years, and has risen to the challenge each time. Yesterday was no different.

Called upon to kick four field goals in miserable wind conditions, Moody nailed all four. This included a 46-yarder into the wind, a 33-yarder to keep Michigan in the game, and a 35-yarder to win it.

After the game, Jim Harbaugh called Jake Moody a Michigan football legend. There’s no denying the validity of that statement.

In what is now the winningest two-year stretch in Michigan history, Moody has single-handedly won the Wolverines a number of those games. Saturday was no exception.

This team wouldn’t go to the playoffs last year without Moody, and probably wouldn’t this year either. Perhaps nobody in program history has had to step up as much as Moody, and he’s done it every time.
