No rest for Blake Corum, who is in perfect Heisman position

Blake Corum continued to build momentum for his Heisman Trophy campaign as ran for 168 yards and scored a touchdown.

It was a the seventh straight 100-yard game for Corum. Yet, it was also another game with nearly 30 carries. He’s averaging 28 carries per game in Big Ten play and since he didn’t have a single run over 12 yards on Saturday, you wonder if he’s getting worn down a little.

Michigan football smartly turned to CJ Stokes and Tavierre Dunlap in the fourth quarter (Donovan Edwards got hurt) and Stokes, who hasn’t played much since a fumble earlier this season, looked really sharp with eight runs for 68 yards including a long of 17.

It’s kind of incredible that Michigan football didn’t have a 20-yard run in the game but managed 264 yards on the ground. That’s just bully ball and Jim Harbaugh shouldn’t apologize for it.

Feeding the ball to your best player is what you do in the month of November. We really hope that Edwards is alright but as far as Corum is concerned, it’s clear Michigan football is going to continue to feed him the rock.

And if Blake can keep producing as he has for the next two or hopefully three weeks, he’ll have a very, very good chance of winning the Heisman.
