Michigan Football: 3 takeaways from a bland win over Nebraska

2. Mr. McThickums padded his Heisman numbers again
For those who didn’t catch the broadcast on television, Robert Griffin III nicknamed Blake Corum Mr. McThickums because of his tree trunk-like legs that he was raving about throughout. Coming into the day Griffin had Corum as his Heisman frontrunner and Corum did nothing wrong to argue his opinionated statement.
Corum ran through Nebraska’s blackshirts with power. His longest run was only 12 yards, but he managed to gain 162 for the record. It’s his seventh straight 100-yard plus performance and he now has 17 rushing touchdowns and one receiving. What he does over the next two weeks will either win him the Heisman or lose it, but he has proven he belongs in New York for an invite.
Donovan Edwards did not re-enter the affair after his second carry and C.J. Stokes filled in nicely for him. He had a season-high 68 yards and almost broke some to the house. Isaiah Gash, Tavierre Dunlap, and Leon Franklin also got to carry the rock since there was no Edwards to rely on to give Corum a breather.
