Can Michigan get to Nebraska’s QBs often?

Michigan has been really good at pressuring the quarterback and getting sacks this year (currently #11 in the country, with 29 team sacks on the season so far) and hopefully that will continue this weekend.

Nebraska’s usual starting QB Casey Thompson won’t be suiting up this weekend as he is currently dealing with a nerve injury to the elbow suffered a few weeks ago against Minnesota, so Nebraska will rely on two backup QBs to share the playcalling.

The two backup QBs are Chubba Purdy and Logan Smothers.

Purdy is more of the traditional drop-back passer, with a little running ability, while Logan Smothers is the traditional spread style type of QB.

What this ultimately means is, Michigan football will get plenty of opportunities to get pressure on both quarterbacks and gets sacks and hits.

Nebraska’s offensive line is very poor, as they are #102 in the country in sacks allowed, having given up 25 sacks in the season so far this season. So, Michigan’s defensive lineman should eat in this game.
