Can Michigan football contain Trey Palmer?

Almost everything about Nebraska is really porous, but one thing that isn’t is their wide receiving corps, especially their leading receiver.

Nebraska’s leading receiver is Trey Palmer, who currently has 819 yards on 53 receptions and five TDs, so you know Nebraska will try to get him the football early and often.

I don’t know who will be matched up with Trey (probably Gemon Green) but whoever it is, they need to prevent the 50/50 balls that have kind of plagued Michigan the past few weeks.

If Michigan’s defenders would get their heads turned around in time, they would be able to prevent the 50/50 balls more often, but sometimes, proper technique isn’t established (looking at you, DJ Turner) and therefore, a deep pass is given up.

Jim Harbaugh mentioned this actually, a few days ago in one of his postgame press conferences, as he would like Michigan’s DBs to play the football better in the air. I will definitely have to agree with that.

Contain Trey, and the score will never have a chance to get as uncomfortable as it did against Rutgers when they just chucked up 50/50 ball after 50/50 ball and completed them.
