There have been some rumors about Wisconsin running back Braelon Allen being interested in a transfer to Michigan football. Here’s what to make of it.

Some very interesting rumors started to hit the internet on Wednesday as rumors of a big-name transfer to Michigan football started circulating.

You might be wondering why we are even talking about a transfer at this point. The regular season isn’t even over and the player in question, which is Braelon Allen of Wisconsin isn’t even in the transfer portal.

However, it’s not like it’s anything new. And besides, Michigan football can’t control if a player is interested in the program. Allen is supposedly tight with Donovan Edwards according to what Chris Balas of The Wolverine said when he confirmed the rumors about Allen.

Is Braelon Allen to Michigan football realistic?

There really wasn’t much to confirm other than it’s a name that has been circulating. It’s not shocking in the sense that Wisconsin has an interim head coach.

You don’t know the motivation of Allen but Michigan will likely be targeting a running back in the transfer portal and if you are a running back, why wouldn’t you want to play for Michigan and its offensive line?

Allen has followed Mike Hart and some other Michigan football coaches on Twitter, which gives some credence to this rumor. But now that Wisconsin is obviously going to know about it, the Badgers could have a better chance of preventing it.

The last three games will probably go a long way toward deciding the future of Wisconsin and interim head coach Jim Leonhard. Michigan football has Donovan Edwards but if Blake Corum goes to the NFL draft, there would be a nice opening for a veteran like Allen.

We have seen these moves pan out such as Jordan Addison to USC. But there does seem to have been something going on behind the scenes. I’ll file this as a believe it when I see it — especially with Michigan’s history of issues with transfer admissions.

It’s interesting to think about but I’d prefer Blake Corum just returned, although with the way he’s running the ball and moving up the Heisman rankings, it’s not likely.
