Michigan football has gotten a second crystal ball projection for five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis in the 2024 recruiting class.

There’s no question who the top recruiting target is for Michigan football right now in the 2024 class or otherwise. It’s Jadyn Davis, the five-star quarterback from North Carolina.

He’s ranked as the No. 3 QB in the 247 sports composite rankings for the 2024 class and 16th overall. He’s 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds and has thrown 36 touchdown passes this season.

Michigan football has emerged as the favorite and did so following a pair of unofficial visits this summer including a trip for the Wolverines recruiting BBQ.

Davis also returned for games this fall against Hawaii and most recently against Michigan State. The Wolverines rolled out the blue carpet as they call it (we don’t do red) and following the win over the Spartans, Michigan football got its first crystal ball projection from national analyst Steve Wiltfong which is always a big deal.

Then, more good news came as Brian Dohn of 247 sports reported that Davis was looking to make a decision before the new year, as in next month (December).

A second crystal ball for Michigan football and Jadyn Davis

Dohn, who covers the East Coast for 247 sports recruiting, made a trip to see Davis last week when he reported about his decision timeline.

Now, Dohn has joined Steve Wiltfong in putting in a crystal ball projection for the Wolverines and like Wiltfong, he’s going with a confidence level of six. This joins the prediciton of EJ Holland of The Wolverine which came this summer, as did a slew of Futurecast picks from Rivals.

LSU, Georgia, and Alabama — all teams that could have been in the mix, have taken a 2024 quarterback in the last few weeks leaving Tennessee, Clemson, and Penn State as the top rivals.

And after what we saw from Clemson this week, plus the comfort level Davis has with Michigan, it’s easy to see the Wolverines are emerging as the favorite.

It feels like they are very close now to landing the second five-star QB of the Jim Harbaugh era and you love to see it. Now, they just have to bring it home.
