2. Rutgers exposed Michigan in the first half

Although Michigan football trailed at halftime, Rutgers was not totally in control of the contest. Michigan was running the ball well and made a few mistakes that cost them the lead. The Scarlet Knight’s offense managed to score 10 points on their own, and without help from the punt block, they would have been down at the break making this an overreaction.

Rutgers fell behind and played catch-up for most of the first half. Michigan had more chances at points but did not capitalize on those occasions. Rutgers had no running game to speak of leaving things in the hands of their sophomore quarterback. Unfortunately for them that had doom written all over it.

Michigan opened up a can in the third quarter by scoring three touchdowns in a matter of minutes. Whatever was said at intermission worked because they have been on a roll for several weeks now in the second stanzas of ball games. The only club to score a point on them after the break was Penn State two weeks ago.
