3. Michigan presided firmly over Rutgers in the stat column
It was flat-out domination in about every category on the stat sheet. The only thing that Rutgers did better than Michigan football was that they passed for 15 more yards than the Wolverines. That’s something Wimsatt can hold over McCarthy, although he definitely would rather be in McCarthy’s shoes presently. Aron Cruickshank had seven grabs and gained 10 more yards than any Michigan receiver did on the night.
Michigan outgained Rutgers 433-180 and possessed the ball for a full quarter more than the Scarlet Knights did. Somehow Rutgers had more points than they did rushing yards in this one. Mike Morris got to the quarterback again by racking up 1.5 sacks to rise his season total to seven with three regular season games to go.
Michael Barrett had 2 interceptions for 52 yards and a touchdown for #Michigan. The entire #Rutgers rushing offense ran for 14 yards and no touchdowns.

Michigan had 22 first downs, while Rutgers had just five. They notched three turnovers as well. Will Johnson had his first career takeaway, some might say looking like Charles Woodson in the process.
Michael Barrett got the other two and returned one to the house. Since stepping in for the injured Nikhai Hill-Green, Barrett has been as steady as anyone could have anticipated.
