3 Keys for Michigan Football against Michigan State
By Josh LaFond
Don’t flinch
There’s been no reason to believe previously that Michigan football would or will flinch at any point this season. But in a rivalry game that they’ve struggled in (surprisingly) under Jim Harbaugh, now isn’t the time to let those mental demons back in.
Michigan State and Mel Tucker are likely going to come out on their first drive on offense with their best play-calling script of the season, showing things they’ve never showed before. And we’ve seen that time and time again in this rivalry.
When Michigan State does that, and when they do try to punch you in the mouth, then you’ve got to be able to respond.
If the Wolverines can rise to the occasion when adversity hits, then the talent disparity and coaching advantage will become evident.
As long as Michigan doesn’t flinch, they’ll be in a great position to win this game.
