Jim Harbaugh is an elite head coach

Last year, after Michigan football lost to Michigan State, people said once again that Jim Harbaugh couldn’t win big games or beat top-10 teams.

I said the best was yet to come and everyone that believed in Jim Harbaugh has been proven right because there is no debate about it, the dude is one of the truly elite head coaches in college football.

There’s Nick Saban, Kirby Smart, and then Jim Harbaugh is in that next group. He proved it with his Big Ten championship last year and the top-10 domination of Penn State was another reminder of the difference between him and a non-elite (James Franklin).

This is the third time Penn State has come to Ann Arbor and been taken behind the woodshed and the second time in a top-15 matchup. Yes, the Nittany Lions won during the COVID-19 year, but Harbaugh has won twice in Happy Valley and is 5-3 against Franklin.

There are two elite programs in the Big Ten and two elite head coaches. You can’t deny that. You also can’t deny what Jim Harbaugh has done. Give the man his due, he’s earned it.
