Can JJ McCarthy shine in the biggest moment of his career?

Right now,  JJ McCarthy leads all of college football with a 78.3% completion percentage, but obviously, Michigan hasn’t played a defense as good athletically and talent-wise as Penn State.

The only semi-comparable team is Iowa, who’s defense was good, but they made their money (at least in the Michigan game) in the red zone when they made Michigan settle for two field goals.

This will be another big step up in competition for JJ McCarthy to have to deal with, but luckily, Michigan has equal talent or slightly more talent than Penn State, so JJ has dealt with athletic ability and talent in practice his whole Michigan career.

JJ will need to orchestrate Michigan’s offense, run the offense efficiently, and limit his turnovers (specifically his fumble tendency) if Michigan wants to win.

I think JJ needs to hit on a deep ball or two this game. I personally don’t think Penn State can keep up if JJ is accurate with his deep balls. Michigan’s offense has another gear or two to go.

I hope this is a Ronnie Bell revenge game for 2019. I’m sure he has had that game on his mind for a long time.
