Michigan football’s pass rush is just fine

The pass rush has been a topic of conversation throughout the offseason and since the start of the regular season.

Michigan didn’t generate a ton of pressure against Maryland, at least until late in the game, and there were some of the same issues against Iowa. This time around, that wasn’t a problem.

The pass rush was getting home throughout the game on Saturday and looked flat-out dominant, generating seven sacks and 10 tackles for loss.

Mazi Smith was an absolute beast inside. So were Mason Graham and Kris Jenkins, who had a nice pressure. The sacks came mostly from the edge guys as Mike Morris, Eyabi Okie, Braiden McGregor, Derrick Moore, and Jaylen Harrell all had one sack, as did Michael Barrett and Junior Colson on blitzes.

The pass rush was relentless and it was part of the reason Indiana managed just 27 yards in the second half. And, in case you haven’t checked, Michigan football now leads the Big Ten in sacks with 22 and while Indiana isn’t special, it’s not Colorado State either.
