2. J.J. McCarthy is due for a weekly turnover spree

Although he did throw his first interception of the season in the win, this sure seems like an overreaction. McCarthy is learning how to protect the football at all costs. He hasn’t been reckless like he was earlier in the year and the interception wasn’t all his fault. He shouldn’t have thrown it in double coverage, but he realized his mistake and didn’t do it again Saturday.

Michigan football is currently ranked in the top half of turnover margin and add in the history of how coach Harbaugh trusts his quarterbacks with the rock, then don’t expect McCarthy to get careless with it all of a sudden. Cade McNamara barely turned it over and you know he has to be in the ear of McCarthy at practice by telling him just how consequential that aspect of the game is.

C.J. Stokes fumbled a couple of weeks back and he hasn’t seen the field since to my knowledge. The same attention is given to all the ball carriers, otherwise they’ll be on the bench like Stokes has lately for as long as coach Harbaugh deems fit.
