2. The pass rush was persistently wrecking Bazelak

The defensive line piled up the sacks again in this one. They officially totaled seven for the day and Connor Bazelak will be feeling quite sore tomorrow when he wakes up. Bazelak was rattled after leading his offense to success in keeping things close and moving the ball during the first 30 minutes of play.

Mike Morris and Eyabi Okie each got to the quarterback for the second time in as many weeks. They were joined by others including Braiden McGregor, Jaylen Harrell, Derrick Moore and Junior Colson. Bazelak was credited on the stat sheet with seven carries for negative 61 yards. That averaged out to almost nine yards every time he dropped back and got tackled for a loss.

Because of those loss of yards, the Hoosiers wound up with just 19 yards on the ground. Bazelak had to throw the ball away time and time again because he had no threat of a rushing attack and constant pressure in his face. Indiana’s offensive line could not keep their signal caller safe or run the ball and it caught up to them in a bad way following halftime.
