4. The pass defense will do its job

Michigan football’s pass defense didn’t look great last week allowing Iowa QB Spencer Petras to throw for over 200 yards. Yet, Michigan still ranks fourth in the Big Ten in passing yards allowed, as well as fifth in defensive pass efficiency.

The Hoosiers throw the football a lot and Bazelak went over 200 yards last week against Nebraska but he had 44 pass attempts. In five games so far this season, the Hoosiers are 0-2 when he averages fewer than six yards per pass attempt.

In the three wins for Indiana, Bazelak averaged more than six yards per pass attempt. That doesn’t mean Indiana can’t win unless he averages more than five yards per attempt, but it’s hard. That’s a low number.

Michigan’s secondary will take last week personally and Bazelak will get hit. He’ll also average fewer than six yards per pass attempt.
