Can J.J. and Michigan’s WRs get back on track?

I have to give Maryland credit, they did a good job for the majority of the game against Michigan just sitting back in their zone coverage and dropping eight defenders back.

Maryland was determined not to get beat deep, and they did that, for the most part. Part of that ‘ though was Maryland’s coverage, and part of it was Michigan’s wide receivers’ inability to create separation at the point of attack.

The wide receivers need to do a better job of attacking the zones and soft spots in the defense and exploiting them.

Even though I said McCarthy needs to play a clean game, that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t, or won’t take some deep shots down the field. I would like to see JJ connect on those this time, as he just seemed off on his deep balls against Maryland.

To be honest, if JJ had hit 2-3 of those deep shots last week against Maryland, the game might have been over much sooner, so if JJ can hit those this weekend, it will bode well for Michigan’s offense, and Iowa’s offense will struggle mightily to keep up.
