How will the front four look for Michigan?

I’ve already harped on this topic a few times prior, but there is still room for Michigan’s front four to improve. They need to get more pressure (and sacks) on the quarterback, and Saturday is a great opportunity to do that.

Iowa’s QB Spencer Petras might be one the least mobile QBs in Power Five football, and Michigan needs to take advantage of that. The guy is a statue behind the line of scrimmage, and Michigan has more than enough speed on defense to get home a lot of times on Saturday.

I’m not concerned about Iowa’s offense at all (aside from one player, which we will get to below), but taking down Petras will only push the Iowa offense further back, and will stall drives, forcing Iowa to punt, potentially giving Michigan good field position (although Iowa’s punter is probably top-5 in the country).

I want to see Michigan get at least five sacks in the game against Iowa. They have the horses to do it. Jim Harbaugh said Eyabi Okie and Derrick Moore almost know the entire defensive playbook now, and will see increased snaps starting this Saturday, and those two might be Michigan’s most talented edge rushers, so hopefully, that helps the pass rush get home.
