2. The offense can afford life without Donovan Edwards for a while
This is a no-brainer overreaction that holds no merit whatsoever. Blake Corum proved that he can burden the load, but Edwards is far too valuable to be on the injury list. C.J. Stokes came in to spell Corum for a moment but literally fumbled away his coveted opportunity and the coaches tabbed Isaiah Gash later in the contest on a third down play.
If you go back to last year and remember that Maryland was the game in which Edwards had his welcome-to-college football performance in the blowout victory, he had an astounding 10 grabs for 170 yards and a touchdown. Maryland had no answer for him on that day and was probably thrilled he didn’t suit up yesterday.
#Michigan backup running back Donovan Edwards (leg) is out again today, per source. Expected to return next week for Michigan's Big Ten road opener at Iowa. Last played Week 2 against Colorado State.

Corum emphatically picked up where Edwards left off that day as Maryland couldn’t find a way to figure him out either.
The offensive line created gaping holes and Corum’s vision was why they were so successful in running it at will. Edwards has got to be salivating at the thought of returning and doing the same thing, perhaps as soon as next week.
