5 things we learned in Michigan Football win over Maryland
The pass rush needs to improve
Michigan football ended the day with three sacks and there were times, when the Wolverines were getting pressure, but the lack of a rush with four players was concerning.
The Wolverines were able to get pressure late when it was needed and it started playing some different guys. Eyabi Okie and Derrick Moore are the two most talented pass rushers on this team and it showed.
Okie got a pressure and Moore got a sack in the fourth quarter. Mike Morris also had some good moments, as did Jaylen Harrell. The rotation needs to be figured out and Okie/Moore need more snaps. You can just see the physical talent they possess.
Braiden McGregor didn’t have a huge game and Taulia Tagovailoa had a lot of time to throw especially in the first half. Still, Maryland totaled 269 yards on 39 attempts which isn’t even seven yards per pass but better offenses are coming and the pass rush needs to ramp up.
There are guys like Moore and Okie who are going to keep getting better. David Ojabo didn’t make his first impact until the Rutgers game really, so things can change quickly in college football, especially on a team loaded with young talent as the Wolverines are.
