3. Michigan football treated Maryland at times like it was a trap game

Give the credit where it is due because Maryland was primed for an upset in the Big house. They scored on Michigan’s defense, which hadn’t allowed a single point in the opening stanza leading up to today. They even held the lead for a while in quarter number two and put the college football world on notice.

Maryland’s defense did them no favors as they couldn’t halt the progress of Blake Corum. If it wasn’t for him, then Michigan arguably loses this one. Of course getting away from what was driving them to success in the first was not a smart move either. Maryland showed the rest of the Big Ten that they will not be a pushover and may sneak up on someone before all is said and done in 2022.

Michigan football might have been peeking ahead to its first road trip next Saturday, but luckily they hunkered down and took care of the business at hand.
