5 predictions for Michigan Football against Maryland
Maryland will score some points (in the first half)
Taulia Tagovailoa is one of the most talented passers in the Big Ten. There’s no debating that. He does have his accuracy issues but he’s also created a lot of big plays.
Last season, Maryland had some success on offense against the Wolverines and I expect to see that again. The Terps have one of the most talented groups of wideouts in the country and while the production hasn’t been there, in the sense that no one is over 200 yards receiving, the group will test the Michigan secondary.
Rakim Jarrett has 11 receptions for 195 yards (17 per reception) while Jacob Copeland is averaging 21 yards per catch. The past two weeks, UConn and Hawaii seemed determined to throw the ball underneath to avoid the pass rush.
Maryland won’t do the same thing. They are going to take some shots and the Terrapins will hit on some. Tagovailoa will throw for well over 200 yards and he won’t average under four yards per pass attempt.
He won’t have a huge day either and he will get intercepted once or twice. The Terrapins will also score the first half and might even hit 20 on the scoreboard.
