Michigan Football: 3 Reasons Wolverines will beat Maryland
By Josh LaFond
Wolverines have a coaching advantage
This one is based on personal bias instead of fact. But a bias that needs to be mentioned nonetheless.
There’s no way on earth that you can look at Maryland’s sideline and Michigan’s sideline and say “I trust both teams to make the right decisions and adjustments”. It’s just not possible.
Jim Harbaugh and his coaching staff have consistently out-coached lesser talented teams. This week will be no different.
The Wolverines under Harbaugh have owned Maryland for lack of a better phrase. Mike Locksley has had excellent opening scripts that have generated decent drives. But outside of that, it’s been tough sledding for his Terps’.
Maryland has everything going against them in this matchup; bad matchups for their defense against the Michigan offense, and bad matchups for their offense against the Wolverine defense. Don’t forget this game is in Ann Arbor too, and against a team that’s been dying to run over someone with a pulse.
Expect Harbaugh to have his guys ready. Know that he and his staff will make the right adjustments for what Maryland draws up.
Don’t expect Mike Locksley and his staff to do the same.
