Limit turnovers

Fairly simple, yet this week, extremely important: limit turnovers.

Let’s take a moment and think about Maryland’s offense. What do they want to do? Get the ball, take big shots, and score in bunches.

How can they do that? By forcing turnovers on offense and having as many chances to score points as they can get.

The Doomsday scenario says that J.J. McCarthy is in over his head a bit, turns the ball over a few times, and Michigan football finds itself in a hole early, needing to rally in the second half.

How can they avoid that scenario? By limiting turnovers.

Thus far, McCarthy has made almost all the right reads, has made good decisions, and has the arm talent to hit routes that previous Michigan quarterbacks have not.

As long as he continues to do that in his biggest test as a starter to date, then Michigan will roll.
