Defense: A

I know that UConn is a huge rebuilding project but the Huskies had run the ball pretty well in the first three games and Michigan football limited UConn to just 86 yards on the ground.

Quarterback Zion Turner had the longest run of the day for 18 yards but no running back had a run of more than 10. The Huskies also threw for just 24 yards, giving them 110 yards total.

It would have been nice to see some more sacks and Michigan football has only picked up one in the past two games. However, UConn’s quarterbacks attempted 20 passes and got just 24 yards, which is an average of 1.1. That’s just unheard of.

Jaylen Harrell, Braiden McGregor, Mike Morris, and Eyabi Anoma, plus Derrick Moore and Taylor Upshaw give Michigan football a wealth of options when it comes to the pass rush. But those guys will need to get home consistently, especially against Maryland’s Taulia Tagovailoa.

The secondary has looked good. The pass rush has been a question mark and we’ll see how those elements hold up Saturday. So far though, so good.
