Two backs hit 100

The Michigan football running game has been just fine through two games. The Wolverines are averaging 251 yards per game, 6.9 yards per attempt, and 4.5 touchdown runs.

Yet, it’s been a little disappointing. Corum has been stellar so far. He’s got 22 carries for 154 yards and two touchdowns. However, he hasn’t reached 100 yards yet in a game and that’s mostly due to the fact that he hasn’t received more than 13 carries.

Another reason is that Corum hasn’t ripped off a run of longer than 24 yards. That’s going to change this week or at least I hope it does. The offensive line was better last week with Ryan Hayes back in the lineup and it’s only a matter of time before Corum escapes for a big run.

UConn is allowing more than 400 yards per game on defense, but just 3.9 on the ground so it won’t be simple, but Corum is dynamic enough to hit the century mark in about 10 carries which is probably all he’ll get against the Huskies.

And mark this down as a bold prediction but CJ Stokes gets 100 for the first time as a Wolverine thanks to the absence of Donovan Edwards and a bigger workload.
