Michigan football will close out its non-conference schedule this Saturday against UConn and here’s a look at the odds for Week 3 as well as a prediction against the spread.

After two easy victories, the Michigan football team will be back on the field this Saturday looking to get another against UConn.

The Huskies are 1-2 under first-year head coach Jim Mora Jr. and while they look to be improved, it’s hard to see them matching up well with Michigan football in J.J. McCarthy’s second start.

The Huskies one win was over Central Connecticut State, while the losses were 21-10 to Utah State in Week 0 and 48-10 at home to Syracuse last week.

That’s probably why the spread is so large. So let’s breakdown the odds and offer our prediction against the spread.

Michigan football vs UConn Week 2 odds

According to FanDuel, Michigan is a 46.5-point favorite this week which is really interesting. The spread was 51.5 last week against Hawaii and the Wolverines won by 46 so they just missed it.

The over/under is set for 58.5 points so you can see the experts don’t expect much in the way of offense from the Huskies.

UConn has averaged over 200 rushing yards per game and could be a good test for the Wolverines, but if the first-team defense had played all game against Hawaii it would have been a shutout.

Prediction for Michigan football vs UConn in Week 3

I’ve picked the Wolverines with the points over the last two weeks but last week gave me pause.

Michigan football is going to roll, no doubt about it. But McCarthy will probably be sitting by halftime after another 40-point performance.

I also see the Wolverines playing a bunch of younger players and walk-ons just like last week. It won’t be quite as lopsided but the talent gap is just too wide.

Michigan will settle for one field goal and will allow the Huskies to hit double digits in the second half.
