Play within yourself

Offense, defense, and special teams. Michigan needs to play within themselves against UConn.

What do I mean by that? And why do I say that?

To answer the first question, by playing within themselves, Michigan limits the issues that have plagued them in years past. Trying too many different wrinkles in games that they need to be building chemistry in. Games in which they hone in the fundamentals. Now is the time to work the basics out.

At this point, we know what the Wolverines are, and that’s a good thing. Michigan is a physical, run focused offense that utilizes the quarterback run threat to open up the play-action passing game, as well as the running back stable.

On defense they are a physical 3-4 hybrid scheme that consistently confuses quarterbacks pre-snap, and has gritty defensive backs that aren’t afraid to get in your face and press you till kingdom come.

We don’t need them to be something they’re not. Don’t try to get cute against Jim Mora Jr’s UConn Huskies.

This might not be a great team by any means, but Mora is a veteran coach who’s led P5 schools, as well as an NFL franchise. He will be looking to pounce at the first sign of Wolverine weakness.

Next. What we learned against Hawaii. dark

Play within yourself in all three aspects of the game and Michigan will win this game more than comfortably.
