The Bad, “Garbage Time” Defense

This game against Hawaii should have been a shutout. We saw how dominant the Wolverines’ defense looked nearly the entire game. The Rainbow Warriors had very minimal yardage, and could not get anything going.

Once the second half started, Michigan football took out most of the starters to avoid any potential injuries.

However, the players that were put in have gotten minimal, if any, playing time in the past. They were inexperienced, so it allowed Hawaii to put up a touchdown and a field goal on the Wolverines in the third and fourth quarters.

Michigan football fans wanted this game to be a shutout, and honestly, it would have brought the defense a huge confidence boost.

However, Jim Harbaugh made the correct decision to take out the starters to avoid any unnecessary injuries late in the game. But, it would have been the cherry on top if they would have gotten a shutout.
