This schedule sucks

Every team plays cupcakes, especially in the early part of the schedule, and playing two teams from the Mountain West shouldn’t have been that easy.

Most years, traditionally, Hawaii and Colorado State would be coming off bowl games. This time around, they each happened to have first-year head coaches and brand-new rosters.

Neither challenged the Wolverines nor were they capable of it. So as exciting as it has been to see the defense get nine sacks in two games and allow just 8.5 points per game, it’s hard to know what we’re seeing because of the opponent.

UConn next week won’t be that much better. Jim Mora Jr. took over what was probably the worst FBS program and is trying to right the ship. The Huskies look better but they won’t be able to compete and Michigan will manhandle another team before seeing a legitimate opponent.

Next. 3 takeaways from spanking of Hawaii. dark

It’s not my favorite. I would rather Michigan football be tested in the non-conference. But it is what it is. It was done years in advance but in the future, it would be nice to see at least one marquee game before getting to Big Ten play.
