Five more sacks for the defense

People scoffed when Jim Harbaugh suggested this defense could be even better than last year, but the depth and talent, top to bottom, feels better.

The Wolverines don’t have Aidan Hutchinson or David Ojabo rushing the passer, but they do have a bunch of talented rushers such as Mike Morris, Jaylen Harrell, Derrick Moore, Eyabi Anoma, and Braiden McGregor. And that’s not all either.

The interior pass rush also feels better. If the edges are set, then Morris can rush inside too which would be a huge plus. Mason Graham, a true freshman notched 0.5 sacks and the DT group is much improved, at least in terms of pushing the pocket.

Michigan football had seven sacks last week. The Wolverines won’t match that number but they will get five and I’m starting to think this team can get to 40 (more than last season).
