More explosive pass plays
Regardless of who is at quarterback, Michigan football needs to air it out more. I love the offensive line and the running backs, but these receivers are extremely talented too and talented playmakers aren’t going to want to play in a 1980s offense.
That’s being a little dramatic but Michigan was really conservative it seemed like last week. The Wolverines need to take some shots and when McCarthy is in the game, he always seems to connect with Andrel Anthony, as they did last year in East Lansing for a TD. Anthony also caught one in the Orange Bowl from McCarthy.
Roman Wilson, Ronnie Bell, and Cornelius Johnson will all have their moments, and Erick All too, but it feels like Anthony is the guy to break out for a 60-yard touchdown reception. Even if that doesn’t happen, he’s going to make at least one big play and will have at least three receptions.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Roman Wilson got past the defense for a bomb either. Anthony is going to have a big day but so will some others as the Wolverines hit a few pass plays over 20 yards.
