The interior defensive line generates a pass rush

Aidan Hutchinson and David Ojabo are gone. We know this.

The guys behind them — Derrick Moore, Jaylen Harrell, Eyabi Anoma, Mike Morris, they all have potential and can help in a lot of ways.

But they aren’t game wreckers in the same way that the Hutchinson and Ojabo win. And they don’t need to be.

Getting an interior pass rush with the defensive tackles is a key to victory this week and especially as we get into the Big Ten season.

Seeing Mazi Smith, Mason Graham, and Kris Jenkins push around the interior offensive line of Hawaii would do wonders for this defense. Not only will it open up lanes for Anoma, Harrell, Morris, and Moore, but it can speed up the quarterback’s clock to the point you induce a boarder line panic attack.

If Smith, Graham, and/or Jenkins can get some TFL’s and a sack or two this Saturday night, Michigan will be in great position in the game, and moving forward.
