Michigan Football: The good, bad, and ugly against Colorado State
The Ugly, Cade McNamara
If you watched yesterday’s game, you know it was not Cade’s best game. Against an opponent like CSU, you expect the starting quarterback to play their best game. Not only that, but with the current QB competition, we all expected Cade to prove that he is QB1, but he did not.
Cade had a 50% completion rating, completing 9 out of 18 passes attempted for 136 yards. He threw an interception that was called back, but it was an extremely sloppy pass that could have ended horribly. After Michigan football was ahead by 4 touchdowns, they put in McCarthy, and JJ played like the starter even after being up by 30.
Not only was his play during the game mediocre at best, but some post-game comments also rubbed some fans the wrong way. Cade stated his disagreement with Coach Harbaugh’s decision, even after his not-so-great game.
Cade is our captain and a leader on this squad, but he needs to play like it. He led the team to their first conference championship in years and a playoff appearance but he needs to be the Cade that we saw all last year.
Michigan Football had a dominant win, but there is much more to improve on. They have a few more “easy” games before they head into the conference games, where these little mistakes aren’t going to fly. Now, it’s onto Hawaii
