Pass rush won’t be a problem

Much of the offseason talk or concern was about the pass rush and how Michigan football was going to replace Aidan Hutchinson and David Ojabo.

Well, asked and answered.

Whether it was Derrick Moore, Eyabi Anoma, Jaylen Harrell, Braiden McGregor, or Mike Morris, the pass rush looked on the same level as last season. There were more contributors and yes, none of those guys are Hutch, but still there were some impressive showings.

Eyabi Anoma got a sack on his first play it seemed like. I’m not sure on that part but he wasn’t on the field long before getting to the QB in the blink of an eye. There’s a reason he was recently included on a top-100 NFL draft prospects list by PFF. He’s a big-time edge rusher and the Wolverines got an absolute steal.

Another steal was Derrick Moore. Both guys have ties to St. Frances and Biff Poggi and all I can say is that was a damn good hire by Jim Harbaugh. Moore also got a sack and drew a holding penalty.

But then, Braiden McGregor had the best game of his Michigan football career and had the pressure on the Rod Moore interception. He had a few hurries and Jaylen Harrell also had a whale of a game even though he was credited with just a half-sack.

Mike Morris didn’t get any sacks but had pressure and notched two tackles for loss, proving again that he’s freaking elite against the run. The entire front is, which leads me to my next point.
