Michigan Football: 5 predictions for Wolverines against Colorado State
The pass rush gets home
Jay Norvell loves to throw the football and so the Michigan football pass rush is going to get a test the first week of the season, along with the secondary.
The Rams have an inexperienced quarterback in Clay Millen, but he’s talented and came over from Nevada. He’s going to complete some passes and the Rams will rack up some yards and a few scores, but he’s also going to get knocked around.
Mike Morris, Jaylen Harrell, Taylor Upshaw, Braiden McGregor, Derrick Moore, and new former five-star addition Eyabi Anoma should all get their chances at pressuring the quarterback on Saturday, along with TJ Guy and Kechaun Bennett.
There are tons of options and I expect Jesse Minter to use the blitz a little bit more especially with Junior Colson. So I’m going to wager that the defense forces four sacks and gets at least two turnovers, despite giving up around 20 points or so.
And after the first week at least, I think the concern around the pass rush will be lessened.
