Behind Enemy Lines: Q&A with Colorado State expert
By Josh LaFond
What’s your game and score prediction?
I suspect the Ram offense may take a few drives to start feeling comfortable with the pace of the game and to start clicking, so if the defense can’t get early stops, the Rams will find themselves down early and we could see a blowout. If the defense is able to keep the team in the game until the young QB and offense gain some confidence and put up some points, I believe the Rams can hang in for a while, before Michigan football pulls away late. Michigan has size, depth, and talent across the board that CSU may not be able to compete with yet.
Norvell and Jim Harbaugh are friends who played together on the 1987 Chicago Bears and were both NFL assistants for the Oakland Raiders in 2002-03.
Much like I don’t believe Nick Saban put the pedal down on protégé Jim McElwain and his Ram team in 2013 in a game CSU trailed just 17-6 heading into the fourth quarter, I’m hoping Harbaugh doesn’t aim to completely bury the Rams in Norvell’s debut.
I see the Rams hanging inside two touchdowns through three quarters and then Michigan football imposing their will and pulling away in the fourth for a 45-24 win. And that would be a CSU “win”.
At least in Vegas.
