Former Michigan football standout and 2022 first-round NFL draft pick Daxton Hill made an eye-opening interception on Sunday night for the Bengals.

The NFL preseason can be incredibly boring. With fewer and fewer players actually taking part in the preseason games, it can be hard to watch for fans.

However, it’s fun to see college stars get their chance and as a Michigan football fan, that’s one of the things that interests me the most about the preseason.

We have already seen former Michigan football superstar Aidan Hutchinson make his presence felt in the preseason for the Lions as he had an impressive tackle for loss in his NFL debut.

Hutchinson was the No. 2 overall pick by Detroit but he wasn’t the only Wolverine selected in the first round of the draft, or the only one expected to make an impact as a rookie.

Daxton Hill, a former five-star recruit and a freak athlete, is another.

Daxton Hill is perfect for the NFL game

It took Daxton Hill to some time finally breakout with Michigan football but in 2021, he lived up to his potential. He flashed before that and made some interceptions as a freshman, but playing the role of nickel last season, he thrived.

Hill is a 6-foot defensive back who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.3. He’s got tremendous ball skills and is a really good man-to-man cover guy.

What makes him special is he can play outside, inside, or even in the box. He’s a great tackler and also has a knack for getting pressure on the blitz. Michigan football used him to pressure the quarterback, cover tight ends, cover wide receivers, and much more.

And he was just scratching the surface.

Just like Rashan Gary, Daxton Hill will be even better in the NFL than at Michigan and against the New York Giants, Hill showed Bengals fans what they can expect in the future — impact plays.

Hill was able to intercept a tipped pass, something he did a couple of times last season and when I saw him make the play — I thought classic Dax.

Next. Final game-by-game predictions for 2022. dark

The former five-star Michigan football recruit looks ready to make an impact and his progress will be fun to follow as he tries to help the Bengals get back to the Super Bowl.
