Michigan at Ohio State

This is “The Game” and the one on the schedule that we have all been waiting for. Ohio State and its fans have this date circled so Michigan needs to be prepared for the Buckeyes’ absolute best.

Beating Ohio State again is possible but Michigan is going to have to be nearly perfect and some will argue that J.J. McCarthy needs to be the starting quarterback by this time. McCarthy did make a couple of great plays in the win last year, but Cade was clutch too, despite one interception.

The gameplan is probably going to be similar, since Michigan football is still going to rely on the running game. Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards, plus an elite offensive line still gives Michigan something very few teams can match or stop.

Ohio State has a new defensive coordinator though and a Heisman-Trophy contending QB, as well as quite possibly the best offense we’ve seen since Joe Burrow was at LSU.

If this was at the Big House, I’d maybe give the nod to the Wolverines but Ohio State will be extremely motivated and Michigan hasn’t won in the Shoe in 22 years.

I don’t see that change this season, which leaves Michigan football 11-1 and likely headed to the Rose Bowl, but falling short of the Big Ten title game.
