Kenneth Grant

It’s wild to me that Grant was ranked as a three-star recruit according to the 247 sports composite rankings. Yet, when you consider that Hassan Haskins, Andrel Anthony, and many other successful Michigan players have been three-star recruits, it’s not a surprise.

Ohio State was the other school in the mix for Grant and the Buckeyes didn’t push as hard as Michigan football did, which was the difference in the end. Ohio State maybe didn’t want Grant as much as some others but that could prove to be a mistake.

Just about every Michigan football fan believes Grant was the guy Harbaugh was talking about at Big Ten Media Days, but he’s 6-foot-3, 356 pounds, and runs a 4.9 in the 40.

Mazi Smith is going to be dominant this season. I believe he’s going to develop into a day-two draft pick this season and Bruce Feldman listed him on his freaks list this year, but Grant who also made the list will be some playing time too.

Michigan hasn’t had a player with that combination of size and agility in a while (maybe ever) and it’s going to be fun to see what he does in 2022.
