Derrick Moore

Most Michigan football fans agree that the pass rush is a concern for the Wolverines heading into the 2022 season. The departures of Aidan Hutchinson and David Ojabo can’t be minimized.

But there are others on the roster that can play too. Mike Morris, Taylor Upshaw, Jaylen Harrell, TJ Guy, Julius Welschof — there isn’t a shortage of options when it comes to EDGE rushers.

Another guy that could help the pass rush is freshman Derrick Moore. He’s listed at 6-foot-3, 279 pounds, which is a little big for an edge rusher, but the man is built ready for the NFL. He carries his weight well and as the No. 79 overall prospect in the 2022 class according to the 247 sports composite rankings, he’s more than talented enough to contribute right away.

I said Harbaugh could have been talking about him with his “gift from gods” comment because he looks like a greek god. He’s absolutely ripped and he was impressive in the spring. Harbaugh and others have said before that he’ll contribute this season and I believe it.

Moore probably won’t start or anything but I see him getting 2-3 sacks next season before he really takes off in the future.
