Mike Morris

I love me some Mike Morris and the dude is going to have a spectacular season for Michigan football in 2022, book it.

How many edge rushers are 6-foot-6, 292 pounds? Well, Morris is and he moves really well for his size. His versatility is going to come in handy this season.

Michigan football has a number of guys competing to replace Aidan Hutchinson and David Ojabo and Morris is one of them. He made four starts at defensive end a year ago and will essentially shift between defensive end and EDGE this season. That’s going to be valuable because if Michigan needs to focus more on run defense, Morris can be part of a three-man front.

The Wolverines can also bump him out to the edge if they want just two interior linemen and two guys on the edge — an alignment they used a lot last season. His length is ideal for a five-technique and he’s going to bat down a few passes this year at the line of scrimmage.

Beyond that, Morris is going to make impact plays in 2022 — a lot of them. He’s my prediction to lead the team in sacks and maybe tackles for loss. He was just scratching the surface next season and this year, Morris is going to be a monster.
