Kris Jenkins

Defensive tackle Kris Jenkins was one of the guys that took a jump in weight leading up to fall camp. He’s now listed at 6-foot-3, 288 pounds, and I’m sure still climbing.

Some have questioned whether that’s enough weight but I’m not worried about that. Mazi Smith is holding down the nose tackle spot, while Jenkins will be more of a three-technique or five-technique as he was last season.

A year ago, Jenkins made a pretty big leap. He finished with 22 tackles and a tackle for loss and entrenched himself in the rotation. He’s going to start every game this season for Michigan football and he’s going to have a true breakout season with multiple sacks.

Defensive line numbers can be hard to predict but Mike Elston has said he believes the interior pass rush wil be better and more production from Jenkins is one reason why.

His dad and his uncle both played in the NFL and after a really productive season, which is what I’m predicting, Kris Jenkins will be headed to the league too.
