2. Michigan State (Oct. 19 home)

Every Michigan football fan has this game circled on the calendar for good reason. Ohio State will always be the most important game but the Spartans are making you think about it.

That’s because Mel Tucker is 2-0 against Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines can’t afford another loss. Cade McNamara said as much during Big Ten Media Days. Michigan needs to own the state and a loss in this rivalry again will signal the exact opposite.

The hype and the pressure and everything that surrounds this matchup, has only intensified recently and it’s a must-win that’s going to take Michigan playing at its best.

1. Ohio State (Nov. 26 away)

We all know this is the most difficult game on the schedule. Not only is Ohio State a juggernaut and expected to have the best offense in college football this season, but the Wolverines haven’t won in Columbus since 2000.

Add to the fact that the Buckeyes are going to be out for revenge after last season’s 42-27 loss, and the Wolverines will have to play nearly perfect football to win.
