Culture is king

Some people criticized Michigan football’s trip around the state of Michigan, but I thought it was a spectacular idea. For one, it made some guys realize just how much they matter.

Cade McNamara talked about that at Big Ten Media Days. He talked about realizing how much the win over Ohio State meant to the Wolverines fan base and I think that’s important.

What’s even more important is building on the culture that led to all the success in 2021 and Michigan football has done a great job of that. McNamara has taken over as the leader of the team but Mazi Smith, Mike Morris, Ronnie Bell, and others have done the same.

This team isn’t going to go back to the 2020 form where it was a bunch of talented guys who weren’t together. The trips have made this team tight-knit and the championship confidence from last season has them thinking big.

All the love for Ohio State also likely has them motivated to prove 2021 wasn’t a fluke.
