Other position battles

We already touched on the quarterback position but there are going to be lots of interesting position battles to watch this fall.

Not only is there going to be stiff competition to see who starts at wide receiver, right tackle, guard, defensive tackle, EDGE, cornerback, and maybe even safety, guys are going to be pushing to move up the depth chart and the competition is going to be legit.

Will Johnson is a big-time player and a five-star recruit but it’s not a guarantee that he’s going to start the first game. It wouldn’t surprise me if he did but the Wolverines have DJ Turner, Gemon Green, and Mike Sainristil who are going to be tough to beat out.

Even some of the thinner positions, such as inside linebacker, are stacked with talented players such as Junior Colson, Nikhai Hill-Green, Michael Barrett, Jaydon Hood, and others.

EDGE is going to be important. We know that the Wolverines have to replace Aidan Hutchinson and David Ojabo but there’s no shortage of capable talents waiting in the wings.
