Michigan Football: 5 must land targets as Wolverines refocus recruiting

4* CB Jyaire Hill (IL)

Another top defensive back target for Steven Clinkscale, as the Kankakee product was also on campus for Michigan’s BBQ event.

The Wolverines are in a heated battle with a surprise competitor in Illinois, as Hill has indicated a desire to remain fairly close to home with his college decision.

Thus, Michigan football will have to convince him and his family, that the four hour drive from Kankakee to Ann Arbor is absolutely worth the superior on-field product Hill would be a part of.

And again, with no current defensive backs committed, landing Hill is a very big priority for the Wolverines, who are a certain bet to make his top group whenever he releases that.

Hill has stated a desire to make a decision sometime this fall, so the aim for Clinkscale and co. will be getting him on campus at least one more time for a gameday visit and seeing if that is sufficient enough to get Hill to pull the trigger for Michigan.

The other top target for Michigan at defensive back is five-star corner Javien Toviano. And while Michigan has generated a lot of buzz for the Texas high school star, most industry insider believe it is unlikely Toviano leaves the state, making it ever more important for Michigan to close with Peal and Hill.
